Start times are being confirmed so that notices can be posted on all affected properties roughly 24 hours in advance. Typical segments will start around 8 am. The notices will read :
On _______________ the sewers in your area are scheduled for repair. For one day starting at ______. There will be a temporary disruption of your sewer service.
We will be installing a liner through the existing sewer in order to repair this line. You will be without sewer service for approximately 8 hours. During that period, we ask that you limit the use of your toilets and also the following items:
  1. DO NOT USE WASHING MACHINES OR DISHWASHERS.
  2. PLEASE LIMIT SINK AND SHOWER/BATH USAGE TO A MINIMUM.
  3. COVER ALL DRAINS WITH POTS AND PANS, AS A REMINDER OF SHUTOFF UNTIL EQUIPMENT HAS LEFT THE SITE.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RESTRICTION CAN DAMAGE THE SEWER IMPROVEMENTS INSTALLED AND COULD RESULT IN BACKUPS INTO YOUR LINE
During some phases of the operation, you may detect an odor. Odors are most likely to occur in buildings with dry or non-existent traps. In most cases, odors can be minimized by pouring several gallons of water down your unused plumbing fixates and basement floor drains, and then open windows to ventilate.
Please note that is you have sump pumps or yard drains connected to the lateral, these are illegal connections and must be removed. Since your lateral will be closed off, a sump pump or other such illegal connection could cause a backup into your home and damage the sewer repairs being installed.
If you have any questions of concerns, please do not hesitate to ask the site supervisor or crew foreman at the job site.
